MORE speculation on their customers

Customers:You know, I kept pondering about who their customers would be until I realized – DUH – it’s in their presentation! Let’s take a look:

Okay, let’s work our way down the chart!

#1: Laptop Market Leader:

Laptops By The Numbers, Fortunly, 4/29/20

Here’s the chart from Forunly. Now, this is 15 months later than the data they pulled, but it shouldn’t have changed that much over the las tyear.

Acer and ASUS are not a “market leader”. Apple, while they make a lot of profit, is not a market leader either. They make a lot of profit, but for reasons I’ll cover later, I don’t think they’ll be part of this list YET. That leaves us with Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

I understand that this assumption seems strange, but I think it’s going to be HP. Why? Because HP Is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA, close to Enovix’s Fremont location. This allows for a rapid design iteration and HP is the market leader here. Plus, if you look at the following from Statista:

Uhhhh yeah, it’s HP. That matches up very nicely with the number of units that Enovix says they’ll be shipping.

#2: Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Market Leader:Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Systems Market Size, Trends, Shares, Insights, and Forecast – 2027 (coherentmarketinsights.com)

I don’t have exact access to the report that they used to see the same results, but if you look at these guys, you’ll see that Motorola has a Public Safety LTE Broadband along with tons of Walkie-Talkies available for it.

What is LMR | Land Mobile Radio – Motorola Solutions

Although this is more of a stab in the dark than anything, I’m going to bet Motorola.
Smartwatch Market Leader:

This is Apple. Easily.

Smartwatch Market Share | T4

The Apple Watch has dominated the global smartwatch market in 2020 | iMore

So that says for H1 2020, Apple sold 42M smartwatches. But wait a second, the chart says Enovix is going to sell 4M units in 2020. What gives?

Well, keep in mind, Enovix is going through Customer Qualifications and won’t ship much this year anyway as they ramp production:

I think Enovix fricked up their analysis. The number “4M” is based upon this analysis from Canalys:

Canalys Newsroom- Worldwide smartwatch shipments Q1 2020

Here, it says “WatchOS gained 4 million new active users during the quarter”. Nowhere else in the document does it show annual sales. Plus, the document says it was released 6/17/20 and the powerpoint refers to 2020 annual customers served… how can you determine that in the middle of 2020?

If this isn’t Apple, give me a Shirley Temple and call me Shirley, but I think Enovix dun goofed.
But let’s think one step further. Whenever you want to get into a huge corporation like that, you can start small and work your way huge. Enovix is already working itself into HP with their laptops. Who wants to bet me that Enovix will eventually be a part of the Macbook pro? I’m betting that the Apple Watch is less than 10% of total Apple revenue: Consolidated Financial Statements (q4cdn.com)

The encircled on the left is 2021 revenue – the right is 2020 revenue. Note that they lump together Beats, Airpods, smart watches – all that together. So the total revenue figures must be less than 10%.

So yeah, I’m betting on Enovix expanding their relationship with Apple and getting into iPhones and Macbook Pros once Enovix has enough production with Fab-2. COMING SOON!

#4: AR/VR market leader:

Need I show this image again?

Enovix wants to work with Apple and did not have to mention this at all. Plus, Facebook is located right down the road in Silicon Valley.

Look, there are two major players in the VR market, and that’s Facebook Oculus and Sony with their Playstation VR. If you look at cumulative sales for Playstation VR:

5 Million PlayStation VR Units Sold, Sony Announces – Road to VR

Sony only shipped 1M devices in 2019.

However, not all the data links up. If you look at the same chart that Enovix references, it looks like this:

So…. Facebook or Sony? Which is it?

I think it’s Facebook simply for the fact that it’s located just up the street to Palo Alto.
I mean look, it’s a 20 minute drive!

Faceeee-boooooook!

#5: AR Platform technology leaderThis one I’m the most confused by. They only link to a Statista article. Also, the picture shows a smart glasses wearable.

I have no clue. But it’s an AR Platform technology leader…. Who runs that?!
